A study from early morning puja and meditation during Navratri, painted from a moment at dawn.

Navratri is a sacred nine-night festival in honour of the Goddess (Devi) in her many forms, celebrated with prayer, ritual, and devotion. It is a time when the energy of the Divine Feminine is especially potent and present.

During one of these mornings, as the lamp flickered in front of my Durga murti, it cast a shadow on the wall — Her shadow. I saw this as our true shadow: a reflection not of darkness, but of divinity. Even our shadow side is part of Her.

Part of my meditation series, this piece is a quiet reminder that we are all, at our core, sacred, and that even what we hide holds the presence of the Goddess.
