Part of my ongoing Murti Series, this study places the Goddess Mahadevi in the heart of Melton Botanic Gardens, a local place of beauty and reflection that I visit often and have run meditation classes in.
The image is based on a drawing I made after visiting the Kali temple in Craigieburn, Melbourne, where I sketched the murti (sacred statue). I imagined Her energy present here in my own local landscape as there is nowhere she is not.
This is a concept piece for a larger work, exploring the presence of the Divine Feminine in everyday Australian spaces.
A thoughtful expression of contemporary sacred art, blending personal ritual, place-based spirituality, and traditional goddess imagery.
